Our November guest speaker will be Dr. DerNecia Phillips, Dr. DérNecia Phillips is the founder of Identity Preparatory Academy, a forthcoming middle school for girls in north Omaha. An educator, activist, and leadership consultant, she has 20 years of experience enriching schools and organizations. She leads with purpose, passion, and a mission to inspire change through identity-affirming education and leadership.

A passionate disruptor and advocate for education, support, youth voice, and Black girl identity, Dr. Phillips leads with deep commitment to community and culture. Her work amplifies the importance of culturally fortifying, high-quality education. A keynote and TEDx speaker, poet, woman of faith, and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Dr. Phillips’ mission is to nurture, challenge, and inspire youth and those who serve them in community.

Since 2012, The Hungry Club meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1:30p. We bring in local, regional and national speakers who have significant information of interest not only to north Omaha but to the entire Omaha Metro Area.
