Focusing on Health, Trust & Hope: A Community Conversation on Cancer Awareness & Medical Mistrust

Join us for September’s Hungry Club featuring Monique Henry, cancer survivor, and Mark Darby, nurse practitioner, for an important community conversation about medical mistrust, cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, and access to care.

Monique will share her personal journey as a cancer survivor and speak candidly about medical mistrust in our community—why it exists, how it affects access to care, and how stronger relationships, education, and early detection can help build trust and save lives.

Mark will share information about the One-Stop Cancer Shop and its efforts to reduce medical mistrust and improve access to care. He will also provide information about free cancer screenings for lung, breast, colon, and prostate cancer and other available resources.

Hungry Club is open to the public. Come for food for thought, a home-cooked meal, and a conversation that could make a difference in your life or the life of someone you love.
